Ben has been coaching runners for over 20 years, including online coaching since 2001. He has coached hundreds of marathon runners, from first timers to elite. While he has coached many runners in all distance events, his speciality is helping runners achieve their marathon goals.
Ben’s coaching is supported by his sports science background. He has worked with a variety of elite athletes since 1999, and specialises in monitoring training load and recovery. He has worked with elite runners, Olympic triathletes, World Champion cyclists and multiple AFL (Australian Football League) teams.
Ben’s marathon coaching philosophy has been developed from years of experience combined with scientific knowledge. He believes that every runner is an individual so there is no ‘one size fits all’ approach to marathon preparation. A variety of training articles from Ben are available here.
Running is a lifelong passion for Ben. His love of running has seen him complete 30 marathons with a PB of 2:49. He continues to work towards improving that PB, but most of all he just loves running every day.
Ben is an Australian, living in Wanaka, New Zealand where the endless trails offer spectacular views of lakes and mountains making every run a sightseeing experience.
